Frequently Asked Questions

Your first visit lasts approximately 45–60 minutes. We begin with a comprehensive history and focused orthopedic/neurological examination to identify the root cause of your symptoms. If clinically indicated, baseline imaging (full spine x-ray) or motion testing will be discussed before moving forward. Depending on your presentation and exam findings, initial treatment or palliative soft-tissue work is typically provided on day one.

Most patients experience immediate relief or a feeling of reduced tension rather than pain. While some adjustments produce an audible release, the techniques used are precise, controlled, and adapted to your comfort level. Mild post-treatment soreness—similar to the feeling after starting a new workout—can occasionally occur for 24 hours as your muscles and joints adapt.
-
The sound is simply cavitation: a natural release of tiny gas bubbles (primarily nitrogen) from the synovial fluid lubricating your joints when pressure changes quickly. It is not bones rubbing or cracking together, and the sound itself is not required for a successful adjustment.
-
In most cases, yes. Unless your examination reveals red flags that require external medical clearance or specialized advanced imaging first, we initiate gentle, focused care—such as targeted soft-tissue therapy, joint mobilization, or an adjustment—during your initial session.

In Washington State, chiropractors are direct-access primary care providers for musculoskeletal conditions, meaning you do not need a physician's referral to schedule an exam. (A small number of specialized HMO plans require a referral for coverage purposes; our staff can verify this during your intake).

Care extends well beyond spinal joints. We provide comprehensive musculoskeletal care that addresses the whole kinetic chain, including extremity evaluations (shoulders, elbows, hips, knees, and feet) and active soft-tissue therapies like Active. Release Technique.
To accelerate tissue healing, we also integrate Class IV MLS Laser Therapy—an advanced, painless light therapy that penetrates deep into injured tissues to quickly reduce inflammation, relieve acute and chronic pain, and speed up cellular repair for conditions like tendonitis, arthritis, sprains, and nerve irritation.

No. Our goal is to resolve your pain, restore functional movement, and equip you with the self-care tools needed to stay healthy independently. Once acute symptoms stabilize, treatment frequency tapers off. Whether you choose to return periodically for preventive wellness or only when a new issue arises is entirely up to you.

Active Release Technique® (ART) goes beyond standard massage by actively identifying and resolving the root cause of soft-tissue dysfunction. Through specific contact tension and guided movements, it effectively breaks down rigid adhesions caused by trauma, overuse, or post-collision whiplash. By relieving tension on surrounding nerves and joints,ART quickly reduces pain and restores healthy biomechanics. It allows you to move freely, regain strength, and return to your daily activities with lasting comfort.
